Thanks so very much for bringing this important matter to our attention. I just got my email off to the RLC expressing my opposition to its Report. I also stated my belief that the time for public comment was to short, there should have been at least 90 days. I then went on to call for the Report to be withdrawn and that public hearings be held in various regions and states so that the broadest representation of citizens could testify on the proposed Report. I know nothing will come of that. However, there are a number of organizations, such as Americans United, Baptist Joint Committee, maybe ACLU, Southern Poverty Law Center that could come together to coordinate such "public hearings" and issue their own "Report" on the RLC Report. Oh, by the way, according to Strong's Concordance, Jesus never uttered the word "Atonement" in any of the four gospels, or claimed to be that, so it appears under the RLC's convoluted, illogical reasoning, Christianity should have dropped that doctrine centuries ago.
18 U.S. Code 1513 makes it a felony to take action against any person who was a witness or participant in any trial or investigation of a federal crime, for retribution or retaliation, punishable by 20 to 20 years in prison plus fines. So for Trump to take such action against Comey violates this statute because Trump has confessed that he is retaliating against him.
Why is Trump not breaching this statute with his actions.
