We might need to update that famous saying by German Lutheran theologian Martin Niemöller. First they came for the Episcopalians … then they came for the Catholics … then they came for the Lutherans.
I am incensed by the words of Michael Flynn and others like them. They have no problem judging others but turn to whining and accusatioins of persecution when others question them. I have been on a writing frenzy to my Congress people, to the Democratic Committee, and on social media about the threats to our democracy and to Christianity. I don't have as the saying goes more money than God but I have a loud voice and a slight talent for writing. If this is not the time for more prophets and more loud voices, I don't know when that is. Also although the threat of tariffs on our allies, the talk about Canada, the Panama Canal and DEI is horrible and the tariffs will create hardship on our all ready stretched citizens, I have come to see them as distractions from the real danger to Christianity and our government. Tariffs can be repealed, DEI can be reinstated and all the empty talk can disappear. But the real threats are not so easily overcome. The time to act is NOW
