Like a doctor who knows what medicine a patient needs, I am fond of prescribing books to friends or church members wrestling with big questions or difficult circumstances. Rarely am I an expert qualified to address their concern, but the right book connects them with someone who can speak with authority or who has already walked down the path they trod.
I agree Christian Nationalism is a false idol. Another in my opinion is Donald Trump. Christians have put him on a pedestal to the point he can do no wrong in their minds. He's made himself into a false god who demands total allegiance. Love of power is indeed a false idol. Fear, I think, is a byproduct and one weapon that people in power use to keep their power.
