The Team

Rev. Dr. Brian Kaylor is president & editor-in-chief of Word&Way. A Baptist minister with a Ph.D. in political communication, he is the author of four books on religion, politics, and communication. Kaylor is an award-winning journalist, photographer, and podcaster. He previously taught political communication at the university level, and worked for denominational organizations.

Rev. Beau Underwood is vice president for external affairs & senior editor of Word&Way. He is a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) minister working on his Ph.D. in public affairs. Underwood previously served in non-profit leadership roles for faith advocacy groups in Washington, D.C., and as a congregational pastor in Missouri.
